NARSINGDI: A post rally seminar on World Water Day-2017 jointly organized by District Administration and Bangladesh Water Development Board of Narsingdi was held at the conference room of Deputy Commissioner on Wednesday, reports BSS. Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dr Shubash Chandra Biswas addressed the seminar as the chief guest with Executive Engineer of Bangladesh Water Development Board of Narsingdi Abul Hossain in the chair.
Former Principal of Narsingdi Government College Prof Mohammad Ali presented the key note paper on the theme of the World Water Day-2017 “Wastewater” while former principal of the same college Golam Mostafa Miah was the main speaker in the seminar and discussed elaborately on the key note paper. Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) ANM Faizul Hoque conducted the seminar as moderator.
Among others Executive Engineer, Department of Public Health Engineering Bashir Ahmed, Vice- President Chamber of Commerce and Industry Shofiqul Islam Tolu, BSS district correspondent Mohammad Abu Taher, Secretary of Narsingdi Press Club Shofiqul Mohammad Manik and General Joint secretary of Jatiya Juba Songhati Farrok Ahmed addressed the seminar. The speakers said discharging of chemical water and waste of the local industries kills Narsingdi’s six rivers- Meghna, Sitalakha Bramaputra, Haridoaand Arial Kha now polluted. Water security now indispensable in the district as well as in the country. People random wastage fresh water as they use huge fresh water for their car washing. Building construction, Gardening and in agricultural land.
