A local Awami League activist was killed and 20 people were injured in a clash at Rupdah village in Sadar upazila yesterday, reports UNB. The deceased was identified as Nannu Mollah, 45, of the village.Police and locals said there had been longstanding enmity between local Awami League leaders --Mokhtar Hossain and Jahurul Islam --over establishing supremacy. The clash erupted following an altercation between the supporters of Mokhtar and Jahurul over the upazila election held on July 21.
