A man was killed and four others were injured in a clash over land dispute at village Madhupur in Tarakanda upazila of Mymensingh on Wednesday evening.
The victim was Arshed Ali, 37, a farmer of Madhupur.
There had been a long standing dispute over a piece of land between Arshed and his cousin Rahim Uddin, police sources said.
As a sequel to the dispute both Arshed and Rahim exchanged heated words leading to a clash involving supporters of the two men on Wednesday afternoon, Arshed and four others, including his wife and father were injured, said Ali Ahmed Mollah, officer-in-charge of Tarakanda police station.
The injured persons were rushed to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital, where Arshed died at around 7pm the same day, police sources said.
