Call for supplying standard animal feeds

Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Mohammad Sayedul Haq has directed the concerned officials to ensure the standard of animal feedss aiming to gain recognition at home and abroad, reports BSS.
“The present government headed by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working relentlessly to strengthen veterinary services in the country and the country has already achieved a tremendous success in the livestock sector,” said the minister.
Sayedul Haq was addressing as chief guest a review meeting on the activities of veterinary services in Bangladesh at the conference room of the ministry recently. The World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) and the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock (MoFL) jointly organised the meeting. State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Narayan Chandra Chanda spoke as the special guest while Fisheries and Livestock Secretary Selina Afroza presided over the meeting.
The meeting discussed the evaluation report on veterinary services of 2011 in presence of a three-member OIE delegation, led by John Waver.
Since its inception in 1924, the OIE has been playing a key role in its capacity as the sole international reference organisation for animal health, enjoying established international recognition and benefiting from direct collaboration with the veterinary services of all its member countries.  The OIE visiting mission will leave Bangladesh on July 30.
