Noted actor-producer Manunur Rashid has been elected as the new president of Television Programme Producers’ Association of Bangladesh for the year 2017-2019, while Iresh Zaker won the post of the general secretary uncontested. Producer Arshad Adnan competed with Mamunur Rashid for the post of president. 

The daylong election of the association was held on Sunday at Emmanuel’s Banquet Hall in the capital’s Gulshan 1. The election commission source informed that among 215 voters, 198 voters casted their votes to elect the president and other members of the new committee.
Among others, Mahabuba Shahrin Tayeb, Mohon Khan and Syed Gausul Azam Shaon have been elected as the vice presidents, while Sazzad Hossain Dodul and Syed Irfan Ullah won the posts of joint-secretaries. Muntasir Mamun Saju won as the organising secretary and the post of publicity and publication secretary went to Md Jahangir Alam.
This year, veteran actor Syed Hasan Imam carried out the responsibility of chief election commissioner, while Mannan Hira and SM Mohseen were the election commissioners. l
