The official ICC Champions Trophy 2017, which is travelling to all eight participating nations, arrived in Dhaka yesterday for a three-day tour. The Nissan Trophy Tour symbolises the global nature of the tournament and provides cricket fans in Bangladesh and around the world the unique opportunity to engage with the coveted trophy. The ICC Champions Trophy 2017 will be held between June 1 and 18 in England and Wales.
During the Bangladesh leg of the tour, the trophy will be on put on display for the general public at the Centre Court of Jamuna Future Park Shopping Mall on Progati Sarani from 11am to 9 pm on Saturday and Sunday.
On March 20, the trophy will be taken to an iconic location in Dhaka for a photo shoot which will be followed by a visit to the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur for a photo/video opportunity with Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) officials and Bangladesh national cricket team members. UNICEF Bangladesh has also organised a children’s event as part of its Cricket for Good initiative with the ICC.
