Neaz, 30, son of AKM Kamal Uddin Ahmed and Mahbuba Kamal of Khandakiya Union in Hathazari upazila, studied at the Sunshine Grammar School and College in the port city, relatives said. The family moved to Lusakai in Zambia. Kamal Uddin worked there as a senior official of a bank. Neaz completed his "O" level there.
Neaz passed his "A" level from Bangladesh and went to Australia for studying Business Administration and Information Technology at Brooklyn University. After graduation, he returned home as his father became ill. Neaz‘s elder sister, Jannatul Mawa, said: "He was a different kind of boy. He used to hang out and party with friends regularly. Suddenly, Neaz changed. The party-loving boy became a devout Muslim. He began dressing up differently and prayed regularly. At one stage, we were happy to see him become religious. We did not think something bad would happen. In early March 2015, he went out for the Friday prayers and never came back. When we could not find him, we filed a general diary with Badda police station. After returning from Australia, he got married and has two daughters. When his younger daughter was one-year-old, he went missing." Neaz's name was on the first missing list of 262 people prepared by the RAB last year.
