After getting highly praised for his directorial debut telefilm ‘Se Kotha Gopan Chhilo’, which was aired on Channel i last year, actor Arfan Ahmed is now back as a director, this time in a drama serial. The tele-drama, titled ‘Big Shot’, is schedule to be telecast on Channel i during the upcoming Eid-Ul-Fitr. Director Arfan Ahmed confirmed that the drama will cast six prominent actors and actresses.
When asked about his interest in direction, Arfan Ahmed said, “I have been acting regularly. Acting is one kind of addiction to me, and I consider it as a profession for survival. I made a telefilm last year and received good response from everyone. So, now, I’ve decided to direct a new tele-drama. I hope to make the drama interesting, because directing this second play is a big challenge for me.” Arfan Ahmed had a drama troupe named ‘Natyayan’. His first tele-drama as an actor was Shamsuddoha Talukdar’s ‘Purashkar’, which was aired on BTV way back in 1995. His first drama serial was 1996’s ‘Akali’. He is also a writer, and popular director Sokal Ahmed directed the first tele-drama written by Arfan.
Other notable drama serials where Arfan Ahmed played a major role are—‘Sonar Pakhi Rupar Pakhi’ by Salauddin Lavlu, ‘Alaspur’ by AL Hajen, ‘Home Theatre’ by Khairul Papon, ‘Chewing gum’ by Sazzad Sumon, ‘Bou Boka Dey’ by Maruf Mithu and ‘Amader Haat Khola’ by Sagor Jahan.
Last week, Arfan began the shooting of the tele-drama ‘Tilottama-To’ in Naznin Hasan Chumki’s direction. Here, Arfan has been cast against Hridi Haq.
