A woman was stabbed to death allegedly by her brother-in-law over a land dispute at Shanirjor village in Morelganj upazila on Wednesday, reports UNB. Police said Khalilur Rahman Talukdar and Rafiqul Islam Talukdar-o sons of Razzak Talukdar—had long been at loggerheads over the ownership of a piece of land. As a sequel to the problem, there had been an altercation between the two brothers when Rafiqul went to the disputed land to take control over it in the morning. At one stage, Rafiqul stabbed Kamala Begum,40, wife of Khalulur Rahman when she tried to quell the situation, leaving her critically injured, said Rashedul Alam, officer-in-charge of Morelganj Police Station. Kamala was taken to local health complex where doctors declared her dead. On information, police rushed in and arrested Rafiqul while fleeing the scene. A case was filed.
