Islamic University (IU) authorities yesterday suspended one of its teachers and two officials for their involvement in the leak of 'F' unit admission test question paper, reports UNB. Those suspended teacher was identified as Associate Professor of the Mathematics Department M Nurul Islam, while the officials were identified as senior accounts auditor Shafiul Islam and a staff member of university library Alauddin. They were also served show-cause notices. The IU also expelled Monojit Kumar, a master's student of the department, on the same charge and cancelled his graduation certificate. The decision was taken at the syndicate meeting held in the afternoon with IU Vice-chancellor Prof Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari in the chair following a probe report. Besides, the university cancelled the admission test of 'F' unit under Applied Science and Technology faculty for the academic year of 2016-2017. A fresh date for the entry test will be announced later, said the IU VC while speaking at a press briefing. Earlier on January 25, the university authorities formed a three-member probe body, led by Prof M Mostofa Kamal of the Mathematics Department, to investigate the allegation of the question paper leakage.
