‘Dui Banglar Natya Mela’ kicks off March 10

The seventh edition of ‘Prangane Mor Dui Banglar Natya Mela 2017’ is set to kick off on March 10. With the slogan‘Tomra Jekhane Sadh Chole Jao, Ami Ei Banglar Pare Roye Jabo’, country’s popular theatre troupe Prangane Mor has organised the festival on the premises of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA), Segun Bagicha in the capital.
Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor and Indian High Commissioner to Dhaka Harsh Vardhan Sringla will jointly inaugurate the nine-day festival on March 10 at the National Theatre Hall of Shilpakala. BSA Director General and Group Theatre Federation Chairman Liaquat Ali Lucky will be present as special guest at the event.  
Like the previous years, the latest edition of Prangane Mor’s festival also includes four plays from Kolkata and five plays from Bangladesh.
Four Indian theatrical plays are—Sansriti Natya Dal’s ‘Brain’, Niva Arts’ ‘Ota Aat Jon’, Kollyan Natya Charcha Kendra’s ‘Nuroldiner Sara Jibon’ and Green Room Theatre’s ‘Asukh’.
On the other hand, Bangladeshi theatre Loko Natyadal will bring their most highly praiseworthy production ‘Konjush’ on stage during the festival. The other local plays are—‘Subachan Natya Sangsad’s ‘Pronoy Jamuna’, Nagorik Natyangan’s ‘Gahar Badsha and Banesa Poree’, Theatre Art Unit’s ‘Morshokam’ and host troupe Prangane Mor’s ‘Ami O Rabindranath’.
In memory of Juboraj-famed late actor-director Khaled Khan, Prangane Mor is going to introduce ‘Prangane Mor Juboraj Sera Natak Padak 2016’ from this year, which will be handed over on the closing day of the festival on March 18. l
