Armed Police Battalion (APBn) and Consumer Rights Protection department jointly carried out anti-adulterated food drives and fined one pharmacy and one sweetmeat shop a total of Tk 50,000 in the capital’s Banani on Thursday reports UNB. Operation Officer of APBn-5 ASP Md Saidur Rahman said a team of the battalion along with Assistant Director of Consumer Rights Protection Department Abdur Jabbar Mandal carried out a drive at Bismillah Pharmacy and Roshmela Sweets. During the drive, manager of the medicine shop Md Kaiyum was fined Tk 30,000 on charges of selling outdated medicines, while manager of the sweetmeat shop Helal Uddin was fined Tk 20,000 for preserving foodstuffs in unhygienic environment, ASP Saidur said.
