Acharya Jayanta Bose performs at Shilpakala today

Acharya Jayanta Bose, a renowned classical musician and artiste from India, will perform at a solo classical music evening today at the main auditorium of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA), Segun Bagicha in the capital. He will be accompanied by Tabla player Pandit Biplab Bhattacharya and Subrata Das at the programme. Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, in partnership with Udichi Shilpi Goshthi, has organized the programme. Cultural personality Kamal Lohani will preside over a very short inaugural session of the event today evening, where Udichi President Professor Dr Shafiuddin Ahmad, noted thespian  Dr Inamul Haque, musician Salim Mahmud and Shangkar Shaojal will be present, among others.
Pandit Jayanta Bose was born in 1956. As a hard core tradition, he has had the culture of music over the last three generations. He is a singer of the first water, a Harmonium soloist of rare most merit, a Tabla player par excellence, a poet and above all a gem of a composer.
He started his career as a Harmonium soloist and accompanist and in a very short time earned a good reputation for having ably accompanied many great virtuosi of India. Presently, he is especially known for his innovative style of creating music.
Pandit Bose has the repute of a dynamic composer for his dimensional works. He has created and composed ‘Vocal Symphony’, classical orchestras, experimental ‘Tabla Symphony’, fusion music, tune of numerous experimental songs, innovative music arrangements and many other dynamics. ‘Vocal Symphony’ and ‘Tabla Symphony’ are his maiden creations.
Presently he is attached to the Rabindra Bharati University as an external honourary member of the Board of Studies and also runs a complete institution of music and culture on his own known as MINDMILES under the hegemony of his own organization called Binkar Musical Society.
