The World Bank (WB) yesterday handed over another car used by its former official to Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate (CIID).
Earlier the bank handed over two of the other sixteen cars allegedly in violation of customs law had previously been handed over to investigators.
An official from the WB’s Dhaka office handed over the car-a Toyota Sedan and its documents to the CIID on Feb 22. “The official also handed over a letter from WB Country Director Qimiao Fan assuring to cooperate in investigation,” the letter said.
Nehal Fernando who worked as a senior rural development specialist used the Toyota Sedan, CIID sources said. He worked in WB Dhaka office between April 2008 and December 2010.
