Abahani Limited (Dhaka) had some solace in Sheikh Kamal Club Cup International football tournament when they defeated FC Alga of Kyrgyzstan by 2-1 at MA Aziz Stadium in Chittagong yesterday.     
Abahani Limited, who have been eliminated after Pocheon Club and TC Sports shared points in the day’s first match, displayed very impressive show to dominate the match against FC Alga.
Abahani opened the net on 27th minute after squandering some close chances when Waly Faisal’s corner kick deflected after touching a FC Alga defender before entering into post (1-0).
 FC Alga, who suffered defeats in their previous two encounters, looked very hostile to earn even a point for some solace and had an opportunity to score a goal, as Abahani defenders messed up inside the area but forward Erzat Toktoaliev’s strong effort was saved by goal keeper Shahidul Sohel.
Abahani continuing their pressure and doubled the lead on 40th minute and it was some classic skill from the English forward David Jonathon when his powerful free kick five yards outside from the box went into the top corner of the net (2-0).   
FC Alga reduced one goal on 75th minute from a penalty with Husanov Tursunboi converted the spot kick after Abahani defender Yeasin Khan handled the ball inside the box (2-1).
