Bus strike enters 2nd day   
Barguna: Movement of buses in three southern districts—Patuakhali, Barguna and Barisal remained suspended for the second consecutive day due to an indefinite strike of bus workers and owners yesterday, causing immense sufferings to the passengersk, reports UNB.
Earlier on Thursday, bus owners and workers went on an indefinite strike in three southern districts demanding an end to plying of three wheelers on highways and withdrawal of fake cases against transport workers.
Golam Mostafa Kislu, President of Barguna Bus Owners Association, said they will continue their strike until their demands are met.
On February 13, police filed a case against 17 transport workers in connection with a clash between bus workers and three wheeler drivers at Amtoli in Barguna district town.
Later on February 13, the bus owners and drivers of the three districts in a press conference demanded withdrawal of the case and an end to plying of three wheelers on the highways.
Following the incident, Patuakhali, Barguna, Barisal Bus-minibus Owners Somonnoy Parishad called the strike.
36 Bangladeshis arrested for illegal travel to India

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a drive arrested 36 people while entering Bangladesh from India through Daulatpur border point yesterday.
The arrestees include seven women, six children and 23 men, hailing from different parts of Bangladesh.
Tipped off, a team of the border guards conducted a drive in the area and arrested them while trying to enter Bangladesh in the morning without valid documents, said Subedar Abdus Samad of Daulatpur BGB camp.
They had been living in India illegally for long, he said.
Later, the arrestees were handed over to Benapole Port Police Station, said Manir Hossain, sub-inspector of Benapole Port Police Station.
Huge current net seized
Satkhira: Coast Guard members in a drive seized 11,000 metres of current net, worth Tk 4 lakh, from the Madar River in the Sundarbans on Thursday, reports UNB.
During their regular drive, a patrol team of the Coast Guard seized 11,000 metres of current net from a trawler in the river, said a Coast Guard member.
However, he said, there was no arrest.
32 arrested in Satkhira
SATKHIRA: Police arrested 32 accused including two
activists of Jamaat-e-Islami from seven upazilas of the district, reports BSS.
Sources with the district police said, in special drives from Thursday night to this morning, they were picked up from different areas of the district.
During the drives, Satkhira Sadar police arrested 13 persons including two Jamaat-E-Islami activists, Kalaroa police five, Tala police two, Kaliganj police three, Shyamnagar police three, Assasuni police three, Patkelghata police two and Debhata police arrested one accused.
Patkelghata Thana Police recovered 21 pieces of Yaba tablets from the upazila during the period.
Several cases, including charges of subversive activities, are pending with different police stations against the arrested persons, the sources added.
The arrested were sent to jail this morning.
Youth electrocuted in Jessore
Jessore: A young man was electrocuted at Isapur village in Sadar upazila on Thursday, reports UNB.
Locals said Sabuj, 25, son of Hazrat Ali of the village, was injured as he came in touch of a live wire while working on the rooftop of a three-storey building in the afternoon.
He was taken to General Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
