According to the Yunnan Provincial Investment Promotion and Cooperation Bureau, the province introduced seven new Fortune 500 companies last year, bringing the total to 94. Of these, 35 are overseas enterprises and 59 domestic.

The seven new Fortune 500 companies for 2016 were Honghai Precision Industry Co., Ltd, China State Construction Engineering Co., Ltd, Royal Dutch Philips Electronics Ltd, China Railway Engineering Corporation, China Railway Construction Corporation, Mitsubishi Electric Engineering Co., Ltd and China CITIC Group Inc.
