Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) named seven national team’s players for the next round games of the ongoing franchisee-based Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL).
They are Soumya Sarkar, Mosaddek Hossain Saikat, Liton Das, Mominul Haque, Kamrul Islam Rabbi, Shafiul Islam and Shuvashis Roy. Of them, Liton and Mominul will play for Islami Bank East Zone. Liton earlier played for East Zone and smashed first-ever double century in his career. And then, he called-up from the national team for the historic one-off Test against India.
Soumya and Saikat will get down for Prime Bank South Zone. Saikat earlier played for South Zone. Then he was replaced injured Imrul Kayes in the just concluded one-off Test against India. Rabbi will perform for defending champion Walton Central Zone. And Shafiul and Shuvashish will bowl for BCB North Zone.
After returning home from India, the board released all the players for the next 10 days. Of them, Mahmudullah Riyad and Tamim Iqbal went straight to Dubai to play the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL), where Riyad will get down for Quetta Gladiators and Tamim for Peshawar Zalmi. Although ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan came back with the team, he flew for Dubai to join PSL.
Test skipper Mushfiqur Rahim did not come with the team. He remained in Delhi for his personal work. He is scheduled to back home within one or two days. Sabbir Rahman, Taskin Ahmed, Taijul Islam and Mehedi Hasan Miraj will be in full rest. Of them, Sabbir, Taskin, Miraj have been placed in the main draft of the next edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) along with Tamim, Riyad and Anamul Haque.
