Don’t want to be an eco-Nazi? Well, that’s easy! Turn on all the lights in your home, turn on the power strip of your computer and do whatever you can to pollute the environment! If you want to be one and want to do something for mother earth, it’s not so hard either! Just stop doing the things written above. Whenever I heard the word “environmental activist” before, the only image that popped into my head was a bunch of tree-hugger protesting with banners and posters. But being part of an environmental organisation, I now know how wrong I was before! Being green doesn’t necessarily mean you have to be a tree hugger. All we have to remember is that we are all part of the environment and what we do to the environment, we do to ourselves. This fragile earth needs us. It needs action. The first action we all have to take is to get rid of our green guilt. Everyone has different green guilt and mine is to run the tap while I am brushing my teeth. I still do not know why I do it. Maybe to see if we have water in our water reservoir or not, or maybe I am just plain weird. All I am saying is, we do not need to emerge from an abandoned street wearing a superhero outfit to salvage mother earth. You can make a difference just by avoiding the fancy screen saver on your computer and saving energy. You would never want your home to turn into a garbage dumpster, then why turn your planet into one? There are many ordinary people who are making an extraordinary contribution to our planet by being milieu friendly. It would not kill us to turn off the computer every time we are not using it, to throw the trash away in an actual dumpster instead of tossing in into the street, or to turn off the light every time we leave the room. Go save the planet, go green! And speaking of turning the light off, I have got to go because the lights in my room are on even though I was not in it for last two hours!
