Eid is knocking at the door. The whole atmosphere changes radically due to onset of Eid. Teenage boys and girls, they have their own style of setting the tone for this grand festival. They have a busy schedule almost the whole day. When asked what they do in the morning, Yasmeen Shamsi of EUSC (Engineering Institute of School and College) says, “At first I take some sweets which is a tradition and then hangout with my friends.” Salim Sadman of DRMC (Dhaka Residential Model College) said, “After finishing my Eid prayer I relax at home and watch TV and eat all types of food.” Meanwhile Arowa Tabassum of Preparatory College talks about her plans: “I usually visit my relatives where I spend some quality time with them and I prefer to wear Salwar-Kameez during Eid.” Farhath Anwar of St. Joseph College also said, “I wear Panjabi and go to my neighbour’s house; I collect my salami and later meet up with my friends.” Generally the girls like to wear saree or salwar-kameez and the boys mostly prefer Panjabi but some of them also keep shirt and jeans in their Eid collection. Let’s not forget the selfie trend! Let us enjoy and celebrate this year’s Eid in a peaceful and harmonious way.
