In his little career, Mehedi Hasan Miraj tasted two kinds of experience. He burst onto the international circuit with a flurry of wickets against England but in the same condition, he was flattened by the team India. Despite bowling 42 overs, he failed to take even a maiden and conceded 165 runs for two wickets. It was a new kind of experience for the bowler who is considered to be the best in future.
“Actually, for me this is a good experience because we are playing against India. This was a good thing for me. The best thing was that I tried to do whatever I wanted to do. I bowled the way I bowled. I bowled a bit short but yes I did what I wanted to do,” said Mehedi.
He also saw the gulf of difference between India and England batsmen.
“They play spin very well on the flat wicket even more. If it turns there will be a bit of trouble but they always survive and they are used to playing like this, the balls that we did, they weren’t turning as much, but once it was turning a bit then they did miss it a bit.”
Mehedi said he learnt a lot after bowling to Virat Kohli and believed it would increase his experience as to how he should bowl to the best batsmen of the world.
“This is a good experience and I watched him play on TV. I have learnt a lot I want to play cricket for a long time, hopefully I can apply whatever I have learnt from here.”
As Bangladesh’s pride are now down to batsmen, Mehedi expected the wicket will remain good to bat on.
“Wicket was always good, it was turning a bit but it wasn’t turning all the time, we are hopeful that the wicket was good.”
