At least 45 shanties were gutted in a devastating fire that broke out at a slum in Tejkunipara area of the capital yesterday morning, reports BSS.
Abdus Samad Azad, operator of the Firefighting Control Room in the city's Nazimuddin Road, said the fire gutted as many as 45 slum houses of different owners while it was
erupted at the railway colony slum at around 9.05 am. Being informed, seven firefighting units were rushed to the spot
and doused the blaze under control at around 10.20 am, said Fire Service & Civil Defense official.The official, however, said that the fire was originated from an oven in the slum.
