Bangladesh wary of Kohli, Ashwin

Any team that has recently come to play in India, remained wary about the threat of Ravichandran Ashwin and India skipper Virat Kohli who made taking wickets and scoring runs utterly easy.
Even on tough Indian pitch where the other batsmen struggled to make runs, Kohli showed his magical form while Ashwin has regularly been taking wickets even in a flat pitch.
The wicket of the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium is believed to be a flat one but it would become a spin paradise after third day like the traditional Indian wicket. Ashwin has grabbed 18 wickets in two Tests here to be the highest wicket-taker in this stadium. Kohli however had no defining innings here rather Cheteshwar Pujara has got two fat centuries here. But Kohli is a player who never gives up.
Unarguably, those two players would be the biggest threat for Bangladesh and neutralising them effectively would increase Bangladesh’s chances.
“Those two are champions. They have been in great form and yes considering their performances of late, they are our real threat,” said Bangladesh Test captain Mushfiqur Rahim.
“They have been playing good cricket but you can’t discount other players of India. They formed a formidable team because all of the players come as handy when it matters most. Probably, they are the only team at the moment whose late order scored many runs.” Mushfiqur insisted that pace bowlers would get some assistance here before spinners rule the rooster.
“Wicket is typical Indian. It’s hard and turning and there is bounce for spinner. I think pacers will get some assistance initially here before spinners take the baton.”
If pacers get reverse swing, it would be handy, said Mushfiqur Rahim. “In this sort of wicket, you should have the skill of reverse swing. Hope our pacers will get it to make the Indian batsmen’s life hell.”
