With dazzling performances from the country’s prominent artistes, and in the presence of noted cultural personalities, eminent guests and stars, the ‘6th Lux RTV Star Award’ was held at the International Convention City in Bashundhara in the capital on Friday. It was a spectacular event for everyone who was present there, as well as audiences from all over the country who enjoyed it live on RTV. Hosted jointly by Lux and RTV, this award honoured the artistes and celebrities who enacted in the various programmes, dramas and shows featured on RTV. As with every year, a Lifetime Achievement Award, recognizing the exemplary journey of an iconic cultural luminary, was one of the most anticipated category of the programme. This year, prominent theatre figure of the country Ramendu Majumder received the prestigious award.
Shahadat Hossain won the Best Actor Award in the Single-episode Drama and Telefilm category for the Lux Stories of Fragrance series Eid drama ‘Mon Tar Shonkhini’. Notable actor Tariq Anam Khan won the Best Actor Award in two different categories, and renowned actress Bipasha Hayat won the Best Actress Award.
One of the special attractions of this event was the Lux Emerging Star Award. This was for the first time that this category was introduced to this show. The contemporary actress and popular model, Nilanjana Neela won the award in this category. The star-studded affair saw a number of stunning performances taking over the stage in between the conferring of various awards. Alongside celebrated singer Sabina Yasmin, Lux Superstars Bidya Sinha Mim, Sadia Islam Mou, actor Bappi, actress Purnima and actor-model Sajol also captivated the audience with their amazing performances. The programme came to an end with a wonderful performance by the famous band Miles.
The programme was also graced by the presence of renowned personalities, including Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu, State Minister for Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid, Dhaka North City Corporation Mayor Annisul Huq and Barrister Fazle Noor Taposh, MP.
