Shakib Khan’s ‘Shikari’ awarded in Kolkata

‘King Khan’-famed popular Bangladeshi actor Shakib Khan-starrer joint venture film ‘Shikari’ won the Best Film Award at the 25th Annual Kalakar Awards 2017. The award ceremony took place in Kolkata on January 20. Besides Srabanti Chatterjee, who played as the heroine opposite Shakib Khan in the film, received the Best Actress Award for the same project.
Directed jointly by Zakir Hossain Simanto from Bangladesh and India’s Joydeep Mukherjee, the film is produced under the banner of Jaaz Multimedia and Eskay Movies.
Speaking about winning the prestigious award by his film, Shakib Khan said, “My first joint venture film ‘Shikari’ became hit in two Bengals. Besides, it received the Best Film Award in Kolkata. I can’t express my feelings in words. I am thankful to everyone. The award has indeed increased my responsibility to present more quality movies to the audience in the future.”
‘Shikari’ was released countrywide 98 cinema halls in Bangladesh on July 7 in 2016. Prior to the release of the film in Bangladesh, production company Jaaz Multimedia announced the film’s release in India, North America and Europe.
The film also includes Amit Hasan, Kharaj Mukherjee, Shupriyo Dutta and Rahul Dev, among others, in the important roles. l
