A court in Pirojpur yesterday convicted two people and sentenced them to life term imprisonment for violating a schoolgirl in 2010. The court also fined Jewel Shikder, 30, and Haider Sheikh, 59- both residents of Lahuri village in Indurkani upazila of the district, Tk 20,000 each, in default, to suffer three years more RI. According to the prosecution, the convicts violated the girl, a resident of the same village, and also videoed the deplorable act with their mobile phone on July 8, 2010. Victim's father filed a case with Indurkandi Police Station under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act on August 1, 2010.
