Digital land management to ensure land ownership

Land Minister Shamsur Rahman Sharif on Thursday said that the government has introduced time-befitting digital land management to ensure proper land ownership, reports BSS.
“We are using modern technology for conducting survey side by side with participation of land owners at every stage in land management system to avert any land-related dispute”, he said this at a function here.
The function was organized in connection with the inauguration of Digital Record Publication and Coordinated Digital Land Record Management on Zonal Settlement Office premises of the district.
The minister said the digital land management would remove the sufferings of the common people as regard to ownership of land so that the government can take the move to make land management procedure easy.
He said building digital Bangladesh as dreamt by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has advanced one step with the ensuring of correct land ownership.
As per the Prime Minister’s commitment to rid the country of landless people, the land minister, said the government has been working hard to rehabilitee 50,000 landless families by 2018.
Chairman of the parliamentary standing committee on the ministry of land Rezaul Karim Hira, senior secretary to the land ministry Mezbaul Alam, devisional commissioner of Mymensingh Mozammel Haq, deputy commissioner M Shahabuddin Khan, Minister Councsellor Head of Cooperation EU Delegation to Bangladesh Mario Ronkoni spoke on the occasion.
