The newly-introduced water taxis, with their elegant combination of red and white, have not only provided the people with the much-needed escape route from the traffic-clogged streets of Dhaka, they also ferry them in and around the Hatirjheel area in less time than any other mode of transport. On Fridays and other holidays long queues are seen.

Every day four water taxis operate from 6am to 10pm.
A passenger has to pay Tk. 30 to go to Badda Link Road from the FDC area and Tk. 25 to go to Rampura Bridge from the FDC. A water taxi can carry 30 passengers at a time.
