4 foreign teams confirm entries in Sk Kamal Club Cup

The second edition of the Sheikh Kamal International Club Cup Football tournament will kick off from February 18 at the MA Aziz Stadium, Chittagong. The organisers are working round the clock to hold the competition smoothly.     
A total of eight teams will participate in the tournament from home and abroad. Apart from the hosts Chittagong Abahani Limited, five teams from abroad and country’s traditional giants Mohammedan Sporting Club (Dhaka) and Abahani Limited (Dhaka) are almost confirmed.
Teams from four countries, out of five from abroad – South Korea, Nepal, Afghanistan and Cambodia so far confirmed the participation in the tournament.  Pocheon Citizen Football Club from Korea, Shaheen Asmayee of Afghanistan and Manang Marshyyangdi Club from Nepal ensured their participation when the name of Cambodian team will be confirmed by tomorrow.
Meanwhile, the organisers will choice a team from Maldives or Sri Lanka to complete the name of the participating teams. Chittagonag Abahani Limited’s officials detailed all in a press conference yesterday with the chairman of the club Abdul Latif MP, secretary general of the club Shamsul Haque Chowdhury MP, Zahid Ahsan Russel MP, chairman   of the parliamentary standing committee on youth and Sports, Tarafdar Ruhul Amin chairman of the football committee of Ctg Abahani also addressed in the press meet.
 Shamsul Haque while addressing the press meet said, “Our main objective is to proliferate the names and fames of Sheikh Kamal world wide through sports.” “In the first edition we were limited only in South Asian region but step by step we are going out from this region and later on we will go out side Asia.”
Tarafdar Ruhul Amin, chairman of the Saif Powertec, the main sponsor company said, “Actually, all of our activities are to develop the country’s football and certainly the major intention to introduce Sheikh Kamal, the great sports organiser of the country, to world wide.”
