Cold starts waning

After raging strongly for the past three days, the cold began waning a little yesterday, particularly in the cold wave prone areas of north-western Bangladesh where it had seen the mercury plummeting to five Degrees Celsius in Rajarhat of Kurigram and Tetulia, leaving the region shivering.Rajarhat and Tetulia respectively recorded 7.2C and 6.4C minimum temperature. Dhaka city had its minimum temperature rising to 14.4C from 12C on Sunday providing some relief to the people, particularly those who start their day early like children trudging their way to school.Temperature also started rising in north-eastern forest clad hill town of Srimangal where it rose to 7.5C from Sundays 6.5C which was the lowest minimum temperature of the day.The Met Office forecast said, the prevailing cold wave condition may further improve in the next 72 hours.
