A full-length Bangla feature film titled ‘Mayabini’, starring actors Symon Sadik and Airin Sultana in the lead roles, is set to hit countrywide cinemas on February 3. The film is directed by Akash Acharya.
On the occasion of the film’s release, a programme was organised at Zahir Raihan Colour Lab Auditorium of Bangladesh Film Development Corporation in the capital on Sunday. Alongside journalists from the different media houses, the event was attended by film directors, actors, technicians and others. Secretary general of Bangladesh Film Directors’ Association Badiul Alam Khokon and actress Shabnam Parvin, among others, were present at the programme.
Actor Symon Sadik at the event, “‘Mayabini’ would be my first-released film in the New Year. The viewers will get to watch me playing several characters simultaneously in the film. Above all, I will be present as a versatile actor in the film. I hope that the viewers, who will come to watch the film in the cinema halls, they will not be upset.”
Director Akash Acharya said, “‘Mayabini’ is a horror story-based film. Usually, this type of film has rarely been produced in our country. I wanted the viewers to get a different flavour. As a result, I was very choosy about the story, as well as I was careful during the making of the film. I believe the film will bring out something good.”
Along with Symon and Airin, Kazi Hayat, Amit Hasan, Shabnam Parvin, Hasi and a few transgender artistes acted in the film.
