Beginning her journey as an anchor with a programme on Bangladesh Television (BTV), talented anchor Dilruba Sathi is now spending seven years in this field. She mainly came to limelight for her brilliant presentation skill in a documentary aired on BTV on the occasion of Rabindranath Tagore’s 150th birth anniversary a few years ago. Since then, she has been very busy with anchoring, dance and acting.
Sathi is regularly anchoring a few shows on Channel i, who is the anchor of the popular TV show ‘Taroka Kathan’ from its beginning. Also, she is the anchor of ‘Gane Gane Sokal Shuru’ and ‘Ganer Utsab’ on channel i. Besides, she hosts different programmes on the special days. With her beautiful presentation, these shows have earned a different level of acceptance among the viewers.
Sathi, who always tries to host a programme in an easy and comfortable manner, said about her job of an anchor, “I do not feel comfortable to recognize myself as an anchor till now. Because, I am still learning anchoring and it makes me feel embarrassed inside me. Am I really good in anchoring? —I wonder sometimes. At the same time, I also see an achievement when some people speak to me with a smile on their face recognising me as an anchor. For that amazing moment, I am truly a proud anchor.”
Dilruba Sathi is always grateful to Channel i family for her today’s position. However, Sathi-acted first tele-drama was made by Masud Chowdhury. Her notable tele-drama was ‘Haimanti’, which was directed by Awal Chowdhury, and she earned positive feedback for playing the title role in the tele-drama. The last tele-drama acted by Sathi was ‘Siren’ under the direction of Rezanur Rahman.
