A gang of robbers looted huge amount of gold ornaments from a jewellery shop in Satmatha area of the district town on Saturday evening. Witnesses said a group of 5-7 hoodlums stormed into the area and blasted several crude bombs around 6:45pm to spread panic.
Later, they swooped on jewellery shop named ‘Al-Hasan Jewellers’ and looted more than 100 bhori (one bhori equivalent to 11.66 grams) gold ornaments and cash money amounting to Tk five lakh stabbing the shop owner Guljar Rahman. Later, the robbers fled scene blasting more crude bombs. A rickshaw-puller and three workers of the jewelry shop were injured during the time.   The injured were rushed to Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital for treatment. Getting information, police and RAB members rushed to the spot. Asaduzaman, superintendent of Bogra police, said police set up check posts at all the enter and exit points of the city. Emdad Hossain, officer-in-charge  of Bogra Sadar Police Station, said police detained two people from the spot.
