RANGPUR: Speakers at a function yesterday underscored the need for spreading among people positive impact of using information and communication technology (ICT) and internet facilities for proper implementation of the Vision-2021, reports BSS. They were addressing the concluding ceremony of the three-day digital innovation fair-2017 organised by the local administration at Public Library ground here.
The fair was organised to further accelerate the digitialisation programme sensitising and bridging the common people with ICT and reaching government services easily to their doorsteps in building a digital Bangladesh.
The Access to Information (a2i) Programme of the Prime Minister’s Office being funded by the GoB, USAID and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) extended assistance in organising the fair.
The district administration, different government departments, non- governmental and private sector organisations, union digital centres (UDCs), financial and educational institutions and entrepreneurs set up 52 stalls in the fair.
Thousands of people, including youths and students, visited the fair daily.
Additional Divisional Commissioner (General) Minu Sheel attended the concluding ceremony as the chief guest with Deputy Commissioner Md Rahat Anwar in the chair.
Acting president of district Awami League Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed addressed it as special guest. Additional deputy commissioner (ADC-General) Priyosindhu Talukder, ADC (Revenue) AKM Maruf Hassan, ADC (Education and ICT) Ruhul Amin Mian and senior district information officer Humayun Kabir addressed, among others.
