Muktagachha upazila chairman suspended

Muktagacha upazila parishad chairman Zakaria Harun has been suspended after a Mymensingh court has accepted charge-sheet brought against him.
The case was filed with Muktagacha police station under speedy trial act in 2013, police said.
Harun, secretary of BNP of Muktagacha upazila unit and joint-secretary of Mymensingh BNP (South), received the suspension order yesterday, party sources said.
The Local Government Department issued an order of his suspension on June 30, said Umme Afsari Johra, upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) of Muktagacha.
BNP sources said Harun , a dedicated BNP leader, was on bail in three other cases and he was conducting his office duty regularly.
Terming the suspension politically motivated, Harun said, “I was politically implicated in four cases filed with Mutagacha police station since 2013. Police pressed charge-sheet in one of four cases that was accepted by a Mymensingh court recently”.
As the present government does not believe in votes and depend on court, police and muscle power, so it is doing everything to wipe out BNP from the country, Harun added.
Kamal Hossain, officer-in-charge of Muktagacha police station, said Harun is accused in four cases filed with the police station under speedy trial act and special power act.
