FARIDPUR: The Faridpur part of the three-day Biswa Ijtema, the biggest congregation of Muslim devotees after the holy Hajj, began on Adampur ground in the suburb of the town yesterday morning, reports BSS. Organizers have made adequate arrangements for holding the congregation in a sound manner. A huge canopy of jute sack has been erected for accommodating at least 70 thousand Musallis.
40 CCTV have been set up along with four observation towers. A separate new electric transformer has been set up to ensure uninterrupted supply of power to the Ijtema venue. All necessary arrangements have been made to ensure supply of drinking and bathing water. Separate arrangements have been made for the foreign participants and VIPs. Enclosures for various security personnel including journalists have been built. Chief organizer of Ijtema Shahin Chowdhury told BSS from Ijtema ground this morning that the Musallis have started pouring into the ground.
