Two days after his removal from the LGRD Ministry, Awami League general secretary Syed Ashraful Islam on Saturday said he does not do politics for any personal gain, reports UNB.
“I don’t do politics for any benefit. My father was killed but didn’t betray Bangabandhu…and that’s my blood,” he said.
The ruling party leader said this while addressing an iftar party organised by Hossainpur Samity, Dhaka at Officer’s Club in the city.
On Thursday, Ashraf lost his job as LGRD Minister and has been made minister without portfolio.
Pointing at the people of his constituency, Ashraf said, “I’ll work for the people of Hossainpur whether I’m there in politics or not.”
