Ruling Awami League-backed panel today won the election to Jahangirnagar University Teachers Association (JUTA) begging 13 posts out of 15 including the president and secretary, reports BSS. Professor Farid Ahmed of Physics department and Associate Professor Farid Ahmed of Philosophy department were elected president and general secretary respectively of JUTA. However, the BNP-backed nationalist teachers' panel won only two posts of executive member. Other elected office-bearers are--- Vice-President Professor Syed Hafizur Rahman of Environmental Sciences department, Treasurer Professor Mohammad Amzad Hossain of Economics department and Joint Secretary Assistant Professor Md Fokhrul Islam of Pharmacy department.
