With Guiyang-Kunming section going into operation on December 28, Shanghai-Kunming High Speed Rail (HSR) was fully put into operation. The 2,252-kilometer-long Shanghai-Kunming HSR begins in Shanghai, passes through Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Hunan, Guizhou provinces, and ends in Kunming, capital city of Yunnan province, cutting the travel time from Shanghai to Kunming from 34 to 11 hours. The highest speed on the Shanghai-Kunming HSR is projected to be 380 kilomtres per hour, with an average speed of 300 kilomtres per hour. Here in the first bullet train from Kunming to Guiyang, attendants and passengers were celebrating the opening of the HSR.
