Woman’s body exhumed for fresh autopsy

 The body of a 23-year-old young woman was exhumed in Zianagore upazila of the district for a fresh post-mortem examination.
Following a court order, Ariful Huq, executive magistrate, Pirojpur, exhumed the body from the grave on Friday afternoon.
AKM Mizanul Huq, officer-in-charge of Indurkani police station, said Fatima-Tuz-Zohra, 23, an honors student of Mirpur Bangla College in Dhaka and daughter of Tofazzel Hossain of Baroikhali village in Zianagore upazila, committed suicide after being harassed by Zahid Mahmud, 27, student of the same college and a resident of Sonakhali village in Morelganj upazila of Bagerhat district.
Zahid used to harass Fatima on the college campus. On June 13, being teased by Zahid Fatima tried to commit suicide hanging from a ceiling fan at her room in the residence at Mirpur Shewrapara. Later, she died at a private hospital in Dhaka on June 19.
Later, her body was taken to Baroikhali village in Zianagore upazila and buried there.
 Fatima’s father filed a case with Kafrul police station against Zahid as he induced the girl to commit suicide. After filing of the case a Dhaka court ordered police to exhume the body for fresh autopsy.
 Following the court order, police exhumed Fatima’s body from the grave in presence of  executive magistrate, Pirojpur,  Ariful Huq.
 Police said accused Zahid was arrested and he is in jail.
 Fatima’s father Tofazzel said his daughter was student affairs secretary of Kafrul unit Chhatra League and accused Zahid is the president of BCL, Mirpur Bangla College unit. The body of a 23-year-old young woman was exhumed in Zianagore upazila of the district for a fresh post-mortem examination.
