Ten ‘robbers’ held in two districts

Police arrested ten suspected robbers in Mymensingh and Jhenidah in the past two days.
Our Mymensingh correspondent reports: Two robbers were arrested along with a motorcycle and two knives from Mrigali area in Ishwarganj upazila of Mymensingh early yesterday.
The arrestees were Nazrul Islam, 40, Saju Miah, 52, Abu Sayeed, 38, and Abul Mansur, 35, all residents of Trisal upazila; Ismael Hossain, 32, and Babul Hossain,22, both residents of Gouripur upazila and Chan Miah, 31, and Al Amin, 22, both residents of Netrakona district.
Officer-in-charge of Ishwarganj police station Mohammad Borhan Uddin said a team of police on a tip-off conducted a drive in the area when a gang of robbers was taking preparation to commit robbery at the dead of night and arrested the eight. Police also recovered a motorcycle and two knives.
The other members of the gang managed to flee the scene sensing the presence of the law enforcers, said the OC.
Our Jhenidah correspondent adds: Police arrested two alleged robbers from Shailkupa in Jhenidah on Friday.
The arrestees were Rafiqul Islam, of Jadobpur village in Moheshpur upazila and Rois Uddin of Nowapra village in Shailkupa upazila of the district.
Shailkupa police officer-in-charge MA Hashem said as some 8/10 robbers gathered in front of Faruk Hossain’s house of Nowapara village the people of the area got together and besieged them.
