After a long delay, the much-awaited (and much-sought-after) cold, the harbinger of winter at this time of the year, is likely to arrive from Monday. That would pave the way for mild-to-moderate cold waves over the country’s north, northeastern and western regions as well as the central zone. However, the fog would not be over so soon, sources in the Met Office warned yesterday. A haze and fog blanketed the sun over the capital for most of the time during the past few days, creating a deadly mixture of fog, dust and smoke. This feature continued to prevail yesterday morning, when the relative humidity was 78 per cent, up from 76 per cent the day before.
