Jagoroni Theatre’s ‘Rajar Chithi’ at four festivals in India

The 15th production of Jagoroni Theatre titled ‘Rajar Chithi’ will be staged four times at four different theatre festivals to be held in India.
The play will be staged on December 24 at the ‘All India Multilingual Drama and Dance Festival’ organized by Spandan in Odisha (formerly Orissa), India, on December 29 at the ‘Bondhu Natya Utsab’ in Uttar Dinajpur, at ‘Dankuni Theatre Festival 2017’ on January 1 and at Barasat Kalpik’s ‘Natyabhasha 2017’ on January 2.
Scripted by Mahfuza Hilali,the play ‘Rajar Chithi’ has been directed by Debashish Ghosh. The play has been made based on a letter of Rabindranath Tagore. In 1993, a young boy of Shajatpur named Shri Haridas Basak, who wrote a letter to Rabindranth Tagore. Seeing that, the villagers mocked him. But, Rabindranth replied to his letter, that time the villagers started to respect him. He then devoted himself to cultural activities. At the time of 1947, while many of Indian left the country, Haridas Basak did not change his residence. The play depicts the story of Partition of India and Haridas Basak’s love to his motherland and Rabindranath.
The cast of the play includes Soron Saha, Mahmuda Yasmin Sumi, Sweety Chowdhury, Shanaz Sharmin Khan Shimu, Baharul Islam Bahar, Rafiqul Islam Rony, Mahmudul Hasan Mukul, Sajib Ghosh and others.
Thandu Raihan has designed the lighting for the production while choreography has been done by Aniket Paal.  Enam Tara Saki has done the costume design and Ramij Raju has directed background music.
