The results of the Junior School Certificate (JSC) and equivalent examinations would be published on 29 December. Education secretary Md Sohrab Hossain yesterday told the journalists that the results of JSC and Junior Dakhil Certificate (JDC) would be handed over to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on that day and later Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid would formally announce the results through a press conference.
The JSC and JDC exams started on November 1 and ended on November 19. Though the examinations were scheduled to be completed on November 17, the exams were suspended in Barisal, Chittagong and Comilla due to inclement weather. Later, the suspended JSC examinations were held on November 12 and JDC on November 19. A total of 24, 12, 775 students took part in the JSC and JDC examinations at 2734 centres across the country. Among the total 20,38,303 JSC examinees, 9,49,145 were boys and 10,75,228 girls. In JDC, a total of 3,74,472 students took part with 1,75,228 boys and 1,99,244 girls.
