Sadhona brings brand new play ‘Kalchoutisha’ today

Sadhona (A Center for the Advancement of South Asian Culture) will stage the opening show of its brand new artistic presentation ‘Kalchoutisha’ today at the National Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) in the capital. Directed by Reaz Mahmud--who earns his reputation for creative scenography in performing arts of this country, the play ‘Kalchoutisha’ is written by Shahman Moishan.
Lubna Marium, art director of the production, said that the production is an aesthetic fusion of theatre and physical language. Playwright Shahman Moishan reveals about the play that ‘Kalchoutisha’ is a contemporary epic of love, conjugal life and socio-political-ontological trauma and eternal vision of man and woman as the cosmic being. The production desires to create a theatrical space where performers and audiences can encounter the essence of time and life with their core existential presence. The cast of the play includes Ashiq Rahman Leeon, Kazi Tamanna Haque Sigma, Afjal Kabir, Tanbhir Nahid Khan, Shakila Simki, Shaharul Islam Kajal, Kamrul Islam Maruf, Nazmul Huda Shakir, Hafijul Islam Ujjal, Amit Chowdhury and others. Santanu Halder has been engaged in this production as dramaturge, while Amit Chowdhury is the choreographer, Maruf Raihan is the videographer, Nirjhor Chowdhury, Rokon Emon and Mahmudul Hasan Prodhan have involved in music composition and operation. Ticket price is Tk 200 and Tk 100, which will be available at Shadhona and Shilpakala Academy.
