As part of the ongoing shake-up in the civil administration, the government has transferred nine senior bureaucrats to different ministries and divisions. The chairman of the Sustainable and Renewable Energy Development Authority, Md Anwarul Islam Sikder, has been transferred as the chairman of the Bangladesh Power Development Council. The additional secretary of the home ministry, Abu Hena Md Rahmatul Munim, has been made the chairman (acting secretary) of the Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC).
BPC chairman Mohammad Mahmud Reza Khan has been made the secretary of the Liberation War ministry. Bangladesh Power Development Council chairman Dr Ahmed Kaikawus has been made the acting secretary of the Power Division. The executive director of the Dhaka Transport Coordination Board (DTCB), Md Kaikubad Hossain, is now the acting secretary of the food ministry. On the other hand, Petrobangla chairman Istiaque Ahmed has been posted as the acting secretary of the forest and environment ministry. The director-general of the Primary Education Directorate, Md Alamgir, has been made the acting secretary of the Technical and Madrasha Education Division. The chairman of the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA), Md Nazrul Islam, has been posted as an acting member of the Planning Commission. Another senior bureaucrat, Shuvashish Bose, director-general of the WTO cell of the commerce ministry, has been transferred as the acting secretary of the jute and textiles ministry. The acting secretary of the Rural Development and Cooperatives Division, Proshanto Kumar Roy, has been promoted to the post of secretary in the same ministry.
