On December 8, a Xiangpeng 8L9921 Boeing 737-700 aircraft carrying 115 passengers took off from Kunming Changshui Airport and landed at Cangyuan Washan Airport, marking the official opening of the latter to traffic.

Cangyuan Washan Airport in Lincang City is situated in Nuoliang Township, Cangyuan Wa Nationality Autonomous County. It is 670 kilomtres away from Kunming, 187 kilomtres away from Lincang City, and 36 kilomtres away from the Cangyuan county seat.
