Food Minister Advocate Quamrul Islam yesterday said the government has distributed over 3.70 lakh tonnes of rice at Taka 10 per kg under a special programme across the country till November 30, reports BSS.
He disclosed this in the Jatiya Sangsad, while replying to a tabled question from Jatiya Party lawmaker Fakhrul Imam with Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair.
The minister said a total of 3,70,369 tonnes of rice were distributed in the country, of which 1,09,259 tonnes were distributed in Dhaka division, 44,477 tonnes in Khulna division, 48,961 tonnes in Chittagong division, 68,201 tonnes in Rajshahi division, 59,492 tonnes in Rangpur division and 30,561 tonnes in Barisal.
