Speakers at an opinion exchanging meeting stressed on good governance in the union parishads to make the grass root level local government bodies people friendly and active.   The meeting on the ‘Challenges in the establishment of good governance and the way of recovery’ was arranged by the Committee of the Concerned Citizen (CCC), Chapainawabganj, of Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) in the conference room of Chapainawabganj Sadar Upazila Parishad on Wednesday, reports BSS. The concept paper on the main theme of the meeting was presented by NSM Mahbubur Rahman Mintu. The speakers stressed ensuring free flow of information as per the Right to Information (RTI) Act-2009 and said without ensuring transparency and accountability in the local government institutions sustainable development, establishment of good governance and culture of democracy would remain a far cry.
