Section 144 at Phulbaria after deaths of two

The upazila administration yesterday imposed section 144 in the municipal area following the deaths of two people, including a teacher of Phulbaria Degree College, allegedly after police came down hard on a demonstrations for nationalisation of the college, reports UNB from Mymensingh. The restriction, which has been enforced from 6am, will be continued until further notice. Meanwhile, sub-inspector Rafiq of Phulbaria Police Station, filed a case accusing 300/400 people on Sunday night, said Rifat Bin Rajib, officer-in-charge of the police station. On Sunday, Abul Kalam Azad, a teacher of the Botany Department of the college and Safar Ali, 70, a passerby, were killed and 20 others injured as police allegedly charged baton on the protesters.
